House Rules

(The House of Balance Terms & Conditions)

1. Interpretation

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) are between you and House of Balance Limited (“HOB”, “we”, “our”, “us”). For the purposes of these Terms, a “Balancer” is a HOB member.

By booking a HOB class, or by using our services, you become a HOB member (“HOB Membership”) and are expressly agreeing to our Terms.
The HOB Studio is situated at 28 Chislehurst High Street, Chislehurst, BR7 5AN (“Studio”)

.
2. Booking a HOB class

Classes (including one-to-one sessions) can be booked via our app House of Balance App (“HOB App”) or in person at our Studio.

At HOB we operate a cashless policy, unless the HOB Manager (as notified to you from time to time) determines that there are extenuating circumstances that require the use of cash.

All classes whether booking a single class, or a block of classes, must be paid for in advance and are non-refundable/transferable.

If a class/classes are booked using an introductory offer or promotional code, these are single use only. These specific types of classes will expire within one month from the date of purchase.

The following expiry periods will apply for the HOB class bundles:
- 5 classes: 1 months;
- 10 classes: 2 months;

- 15 classes: 3 months;
- Monthly (16 classes per month): 1 month.

3. HOB Prices

The price of our classes and packages will be displayed on our HOB App and HOB Website. These prices may increase from time to time.

In the event of a price increase, we will endeavour to provide as much notice as practically possible.

4. Cancelling a HOB Class

We understand that there may be occasions where you need to cancel a class for an unforeseen reason. We also have to ensure that we operate a fair cancellation policy for our Balancers who may be placed on waitlists due to high demand. Therefore, we operate a 12 hour cancellation policy.

For classes that are cancelled with more than 12 hours’ notice of the class start time, your HOB credits will be returned to your account.
In the event that a class is cancelled with less than 12 hours’ notice of the class start time, your HOB credits will be deemed as used and will not be credited.

5. The HOB Waitlist

If a HOB class is at capacity, you will automatically be added onto our waitlist. We operate a waitlist up to a maximum of 4 Balancers.

Should a Balancer cancel a class within our permitted 12-hour cancellation window, you will be added to the class and notified via the HOB App.
In the event that a Balancer cancels in less than 12 hours, you will not automatically be added to the class and will need to check our availability via the HOB App to book in for the desired class.

6. HOB Teachers

At HOB we have a very talented team of teachers and we know that Balancers will often book a class based on their favourite.

However, from time to time we may need to change a teacher for a class due to reasons outside of our control. In these circumstances, we will notify our Balancers as soon as we reasonably can via the HOB App.

7. What to Wear to a HOB Class

In order to participate in a HOB class, you are required to wear grip socks. Grip socks can be purchased at our studio.

We want our Balancers to feel comfortable during a HOB class and we would recommend that you wear gym/active wear that enables agile movement.

8. HOB Equipment

At HOB we will provide all the equipment you need to participate in the class, which includes (but is not limited to) a Reformer Pilates bed, Reformer Pilates box, hand weights, Pilates ball and resistance bands (“Reformer Pilates Equipment”).

9. Arriving at the HOB Studio for Your Class

Please arrive for your booked HOB class five minutes prior to its start time. This will allow you to put away your belongings and begin the class on time, without causing disruption to other Balancers.

Should you arrive for your class late, the HOB teacher reserves the right to determine that you are not permitted to participate in the class. This is in the best interests of our Balancers, as well as for your safety, as the warm-up section of the class is an integral element of this.

10. Taking Part in a HOB Class

Your health and safety is our priority and that is why we ensure that up-to-date medical information is provided by you at the outset of your HOB Membership. This is so that we are made aware of any pre-existing medical conditions or injuries that may impact your participation in our classes.

Whilst our teachers will always check for any new medical conditions or injuries at the beginning of each class, we rely on you to provide accurate and up-to-date information. Should any medical information change during your HOB Membership, you are required to inform us immediately.

Should a HOB teacher exercise their reasonable judgement and discretion in determining that you are not fit and/or well to participate in a class, they reserve the right to restrict your participation in the class or refuse your taking part altogether.

All of our HOB teachers are highly skilled and qualified in Reformer Pilates. We hope that all Balancers will follow their teachers to the best of their ability, but we cannot be held responsible for any careless or reckless behaviour with the use of our Reformer Pilates Equipment.

11. Balancers’ Personal Belongings

At the Studio we will provide facilities for you to put your personal belongings, however, we cannot be held responsible or liable for any misplaced or lost personal belongings.

12. Hygiene at the HOB Studio

Whilst we will try our very best to ensure that the HOB Studio is kept clean and tidy at all times, we ask that you clean your Reformer Pilates Equipment after each class using the cleaning products provided.

13. Illness

In the event that you contract an infectious disease during your HOB Membership, you must inform us immediately by email info@houseofbalance.co.uk and provide a statement of fitness before we can permit you to participate in one of our classes.

14. Pregnancy

If you have practised Reformer Pilates before, then you are able to join our classes subject to any medical clearance and the necessary adjustments being made. Please let your instructor know before the start of your session of your pregnancy and they will discuss the adjustments with you. In order to ensure your safety, we cannot permit you to attend a class if you are pregnant and have not previously practised Reformer Pilates.

15. HOB’s Processing of Personal Data

Your personal data will be processed in accordance with the HOB Privacy Notice (as amended from time to time), which can be accessed via the HOB App
